Testimonials

I have visited Michael on several occasions in recent years with various pains & muscle problems, mainly as a result of training for triathlon and associated injuries. He always seems able to identify the source of the problem quickly & confidently, and explains in layman’s terms so I can understand the cause & his subsequent treatment.

All treatment I have had from Michael has been very effective in easing pain and allowing me to return to training with minimal disruption, and his friendly & professional manner ensured I am always at ease when being treated by him. With 3 other triathletes/swimmers in the family, we have had a wide variety of ailments sorted by him; shin splints, Achilles injuries, knee problems, back pain, pulled shoulder & neck muscles and the usual range of arm & leg injuries.

We are all firm advocates of Michael’s treatments, and now tend to visit him sooner rather than later, to prevent a minor injury developing into something more serious.

I started attending Michael over 2 years ago due to re-occurring back, neck and shoulder problems. Before that I had tried many other forms of treatment which although made a slight improvement, never seemed to completely alleviate the pain or stiffness. Since attending Michael regularly I have had great relief from the original problems and can only recommend him highly. He addresses his work in an extremely professional manner and I’m glad I was recommended to him.

As an age-group club triathlete training for an Ironman event I was concerned that a debilitating calf injury was going to prevent me from doing any running. After a few visits to Michael for massage and two or three weeks of following his exercise regime I was back running again. Top man!

I have been attending Michael’s clinic on a regular basis with a chronic muscular problem. Although the problem I have is not curable, Michael’s treatment makes the problem more manageable and helps me to be more mobile on a day-to-day basis.

I recommend using Michael as his knowledge of muscular, skeletal and sport injuries is high. If he feels that his treatment won’t solve the problem, he is honest enough to recommend a different type of treatment or refer to a doctor.

Whilst training for the Edinburgh marathon I damaged my calf muscle. Michael Valentine was recommended to myself through a friend and ever since I continue to attend at Michael's clinic for regular sports massage/treatment throughout my running training. The consultation I received at Michael's was comprehensive, paying attention to my needs for a quick but safe recovery so that I didn't loose too much time from my training programme.

The treatment I received is very professional, ranging from massage & soft tissue mobilisation to ultrasound, at all times Michael thoroughly explained the treatment he was providing and detailed the rehabilitation exercises that I had to do at home.I have found that Michael is not only very professional but also honest, friendly and committed to helping his clients.

He never rushes any treatment sessions, in fact at times he will overrun a little until treatment is completed. I would highly recommend Michael to anyone who is looking for a sports therapist.

I first recieved treatment from Michael after a motor accident which resulted in impaired movement in the upper body, thanks to Michael's professional skill and warm hearted approach; I persevered with treatment and am now back to normal. Thanks Mike.

As a member of the Emergency Services I have to maintain my fitness levels and tend to suffer from the occasional leg injury from running. I have been to countless physiotherapists since 2006 until I was recommended by a triathlete to see Michael. My re-occurring injury was diagnosed quickly and within 4 sessions I was running again.

Michael is both professional and knowledgeable in his line of work as many of my colleagues will testify, some of whom travel from as far as Glasgow south to attend his clinic. What I like best about Michael is if you need one session for the injury then that is all he will recommend. Michael will follow this up with an exercise programme and is always contactable by phone should you need further advice.

If you have any injury, re occurring problem ( e.g. back neck etc) irrespective of age I would recommend seeing Michael first.

“Being a Personal Trainer and Running coach  I need to maintain my well-being with regular trips to Michael to loosen off tight muscle groups and flush out the lactic acid that builds up from the many miles that I cover. I have  attended Michaels clinic now for 8 years and have been so impressed with his insight and knowledge that I wouldn’t hesitate to refer my own clients to him for treatment.” Kenneth MuirDip, PT, CSMT, Advanced Personal Trainer, Reps Level 3.Body Morph Fitness Ltd.
